Classic Pepperoni Pizza
Ingredients:
For the Dough:
250g (2 cups) all-purpose flour
150ml (⅔ cup) warm water
1 tsp dry yeast
1 tsp sugar
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp olive oil
For the Sauce:
200g (¾ cup) canned crushed tomatoes
1 tbsp olive oil
1 garlic clove, minced
½ tsp dried oregano
½ tsp dried basil
Salt and black pepper to taste
For the Toppings:
150g (1 ½ cups) shredded mozzarella cheese
80g (½ cup) pepperoni slices
1 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Dough
1. In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
3. Knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
4. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
2. Make the Sauce
1. Heat olive oil in a small pan over medium heat.
2. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
